Donation Requests

Sci-Tech Discovery Center is a non-profit organization which is certified tax-exempt under section 501 (c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Service code. However, the Sci-Tech Discovery Center supports many local non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations annually by donating tickets to assist with fundraising efforts. Due to the volume of the requests received, organizations must meet the program guidelines to be considered. All requests are evaluated on an individual basis. Projects of all non-profit organizations are considered for a contribution without regard to race, gender, disability, religion, ethnicity, age, or sexual orientation.

Program Guidelines

  • All donation requests must be in writing on the requesting organization’s letterhead.
  • Sci-Tech Discovery Center does not accept donation requests via email, fax or telephone.
  • Requests should include the name of the non-profit organization, date of the fundraiser, the purpose and beneficiary of the fundraiser, contact name, day-time phone number, email address, and an address to which the donations should be sent.
  • Proof of 501(c)(3) non-profit status must be attached to all requests.
  • Organizations that do not submit all of the required documents will not be considered for a donation from Sci-Tech Discovery Center.
  • Requests for donations should be submitted at least six weeks prior to the event date. The donation will be mailed approximately on the 1st of the month prior to the event.
  • The purpose of the event must not be contrary to Sci-Tech Discovery Center’s mission.
  • Sci-Tech Discovery Center grants donation requests for specific events such as raffles or auctions that raise funds for a charitable cause.
  • Fundraisers to benefit an individual or families are not generally honored.
  • Sci-Tech Discovery Center does not donate tickets to be used as incentives, thank you gifts, or for entertainment purposes.
  • One request per organization will be considered per calendar year.

Note: Submitting a request does not guarantee a donation. Priority is given to non-profit organizations with a science education focus and supporters of Sci-Tech Discovery Center.
