Sci-Tech Slime
|
Did you know that there are some substances that are neither liquid, solid nor gas? These substances, called non-Newtonian compounds, stretch us to think beyond traditional science premises. Sci-Tech Slime fits into this category and offers you and your family the chance to enjoy mind-stretching fun at home. Ingredients: WARNING: Borax can irritate eyes and skin, so be sure to use it carefully. Do not touch your eyes as you measure the Borax powder and make the slime, and wash your hands thoroughly afterward. |
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix 12 oz. of distilled water with 12 oz. white glue. Stir well to mix completely.
2. In a second bowl, mix the remaining 24 oz. of distilled water with 3 tsp. Borax powder. Stir well to mix completely.
3. Add a few drops of food coloring to the second bowl with the Borax mixture.
4. Slowly pour the colored Borax mixture into the bowl with the glue-water mixture, stirring constantly.
5. Continue mixing until a soft solid forms.
6. Using a spoon, scoop out the soft solid and place it on a countertop or cutting board. Be sure to leave the remaining liquid in the bowl.
7. Using your hands, knead the soft solid until it turns into SLIME.
To extend the life of your Sci-Tech Slime, store it in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.
Don't forget to wash your hands after you make your Slime.
